Champaigne Klassen has been following research that shows Mindfulness training is beneficial to improving cognitive, mental and physical problems. In the last 10 years, it seems to have exploded into our social consciousness and life in Canada. We think it reflects the search for balance in our very hurried and busy lives.

Joyce Charlebois, MSW, and Dr. Champaigne are the driving forces behind Mindfulness at our clinic. Dr. Champaigne integrates mindfulness into her clinical sessions. Joyce provides an evidence based 8 week program which includes private, individually tailored sessions along with provided home practice assignments. Everyone who has completed this program has rated it as being very beneficial to their daily life. This is a guided introduction to formal and informal practices of Mindfulness. This service is modeled on the MBSR program developed by Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn, at the Center for Mindfulness in Medicine, Health Care and Society, University of Massachusetts.

We have future plans to offer follow-up and small group Mindfulness training groups.
